St. Mary’s welcomes individuals to lend a helping hand in a wide variety of ways.
Some of our volunteer opportunities include:
- Food Pantry Worker - Assist with loading and unloading food delivery trucks, liaising with Mid-Ohio food bank and local grocery stores, sorting food items and packaging into family meal kits, maintaining the pantry area, keeping it clean and organized, and helping carry family meal kits to cars during open hours. - Grant Writing - If you are skilled in the art of writing grants and have the time to volunteer to apply for grants for St. Mary Parish and School, we need and would appreciate your expertise. Contact your parish office.
- Grounds and Landscaping - While our campuses are small, there are many tasks to ensure the outside of our churches remain appealing and worthy of being a house of worship for our Lord. Opportunities include periodic weeding, mulching, lawn care and other landscaping projects that may be planned. Contact the parish office for more information.
- Office Worker - We can always use help stuffing envelopes!
- Sick & Homebound Visits - These ministers have volunteered to bring the Body of Christ to those unable to receive in any other manner. This is truly a spiritually rewarding experience for all involved. Communion is scheduled to be brought to those who are sick, in nursing homes or homebound weekly at a regularly appointed time. - St. Mary Homecoming Festival - This is the largest single event conducted to support the St. Mary community and generate funds. This two-day celebration requires many hands to set up and tear-down, as well as to staff the many games, food tents and other activities. Contact the parish office for more details.
*Please note: St. Mary Catholic Church follows the Diocese of Columbus Safe Environment Program (Protecting God’s Children) in which we require all volunteers, that have regular contact with minors, to be PGC certified. For more information, call the parish office.
