Promise on Parsons began in August of 2019, mimicking the Hope on High ministry which was started by the Church of the Nazarene in Obetz and has been led by Tarry Summers for nearly a decade.
The Promise on Parsons ministry aims to provide a free meal to those in need on the South End of Columbus. Our parishes currently have four teams, preparing and serving meals every second, fourth, and fifth Friday of the month. Since starting the program on Parsons, we have reached out to several other churches in the area and within one month, we were able to schedule meals to be served on EVERY Friday.
We currently need volunteers to help prepare meals to serve on the second, fourth, and fifth Friday's in the park behind the John R. Maloney Health Center at Parsons Avenue and Reeb Avenue. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Charles Laviviere at [email protected]
A donation box will be set out in the back of the church during the week for adult clothing (smaller sizes), new socks, batteries, toilet paper, sleeping bags, and pop-up (portable) tent donations. Thank you for your generosity!
